A trip to the zoo
The Memories
by Wendy G
The couple planned a special treat for their three young children: a trip to the zoo for some special memories.
As their train approached, one toddler skittered away.
Her father ran, pulling her back from the platform edge, but lost his grip on the baby’s pram.
It rolled fast, falling onto the tracks.
Screaming, the mother grabbed the girls.
Her husband jumped down, pushing the pram to safety. He died; the baby lived.
Heroic effort.
