Hoping to make the birthday girl swoon

We all hear that age doesn’t matter

Older always thought to be smarter

Who cares if we are somewhat fatter

Long as teeth aren’t covered in tartar

Gleaming eyes and smiling faces shine

Kindness and wit carry us a long way

Juicy steaks better than a pork rind

Peachy Karen makes happier days

Her August birthday time to start anew

Happy living close to her sisters

Jack in the Box tacos more than few

Safe places to hide from the twisters

Here’s wishing her the best birthday ever

Breaks from inclement Texas weather

Mountains of books made her more clever

Tomorrow lighter than a feather

A body healed and made whole again

Look to the future forget the past

Blessed newfound light to guide amen

Time to get up, out, and off your ass.
