A Love Note

by Mia Twysted

The author has placed a warning on this post for violence.
You swept across me
Pushing like a violent storm
You plowed through my walls
Making my still heart begin to beat
The thought of you makes me smile
I dance my feet lighter than air
I long to feel your warm embrace
Be in the presence of your grace
With each beating heart
I hold in my hand
My undying love for you grows
Oh, Death, oh Death
I long for you
that we may again have
our party for two
side by side, we stand
watching the fading light
drain away in their open eyes
They say a mind like mine can't love
but Death, as I sit with you
watching our victim circle the drain
I feel much more than I ever knew
to hold your hand
to win your heart
Covered in warm red blood
we shall never part

Love Poem Poetry Contest contest entry

Everyone writes about loving another person, and I wanted to do something different, so I took it to a different level. In the mind of a killer, death is somewhat a friend, but what if they saw it as an entity that they could only get close to by killing someone? In their mind, they are in love. Different, I know. It's twisted.
