When my wife Rhonda passed away
Buried treasure I did find
Among the things she left behind,
A journal of our first days together
Days long gone were relived
As I perused each note
Notes that were addressed to God
Which He allowed me to read
Causing me to give further thanks
To the one who brought her to me

There is another journal
God will open when we die
Will you be ashamed
Of the writing on the page?
We have but one chance
To revise that Book’s writings

God grants us Life
Yes, Life abundant
Replete with blessings poured out
All these things shall pass away
Along with that treasured journal
That new book is all that matters
As it’s writ with Christ’s own blood
