A new gift every ten minutes!

Male mail

by Wendy G

Breaking Covid lockdown restrictions, my son sneaked into my home late one evening, carrying a small package.

Swiftly he set up a “photo frame” device, with four hundred recent photos of my children and grandchildren, all remotely uploaded via “the cloud”.

“Your early Christmas gift! I ordered it from overseas; it’s in time for your next grand-baby's arrival in September! We’re all isolated from each other, but we love you. The photos rotate every ten minutes!”

Sadness and loneliness evaporated.

My son had gone to enormous trouble to import this, and organised his distant sisters to choose and upload their own family photos. Far from being forgotten, I realised that each day as they sorted through their photos, they were thinking of me, and what would make me happy.
I get a notification with each new photo uploaded, so even today I am up-to-date with all the details of their lives, even if we can't catch up for some time.
