Showdown After The Show

Into That (Not So) Good Night

by GoWiSt

“I will not

Go gently

Into that…

Awful night!

I will fight

Tooth and nail

To remain

Where I am!

And I’ll damn

Whomever

Compels me

To such gloom!

Evils loom

All around!

Though I’m old,

I’ll resist!”

**********************************

“Please, desist,

Dear Grandpa!

Show’s over;

We must go!

Yes, we know

That rain storms

Late at night

Bother you.

We will do

All we can

To get you

Back home soon.

See the moon?

It’s quite late;

The playhouse

Needs to close.”

Three by Four Poem contest entry

This is a spoof (satiric parody) on dying, as grandpa isn't actually dying, but doesn't want to go out into the stormy night after a night show he has just attended with his family is over.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
