Girl Talk

by Jessica Wheeler

Half a Dialogue Contest Winner
The author has placed a warning on this post for language.

"Oh, hey, girl!"

"Nothing, just hanging at home. What are you up to today?"

"No way! He asked you out?"

"I knew it! I told you he was into you! When did this go down?"

"Well, duh. You were looking hot that night."

"No, you stop! You know you looked good."

"Wait… tell me you wore the red top I made you get when we went shopping last month?"

"Yes! Red is your color, girl."

"I know. I can't wait to visit again.”

"I miss you, too. So much."

"Oh! I almost forgot to ask - Did your neighbor ever end up finding her cat?"

"HAHA, the garage again? Tell Betty she needs to invest in a GPS for that thing."

"Really… What's a GPS? You’re killing me."

"Ok, so wait… Where is he taking you?"

"Guess? Ah, ok. Oh, I know… the beach."

"Yeah, the beach! Get your bikini ready."

"No, he is not. BINGO!? Come on."

"OLD!? You're crazy, lady."

"Your ass is not old."

"It’s true! Here’s hoping I have half your game fifty years from now."

"Oh, please. Your legs are way nicer than mine."

"Ugh, I have to go. Your daughter has called me twice now since we've been talking."

"Haha! Yep, ONLY twice."

"OK, have so much fun and tell me all about it later! OH, and send me a selfie!"

"Oh, jeez. Well, find out what a selfie is first, then send me one!"

“Ask that hussy, Betty.”

"I love you too. So much."

"Bye, Grandma."

Writing Prompt
Write a dialogue but only one side of it. For example, if you were to overhear a phone conversation, you could only hear half of it. The reader must be able to work out what's going on from that half.
No writing outside of the dialogue. Use the title and picture to help set the scene if needed.

Any genre, any length. Be creative and have fun with it!
