A New Tomorrow
by Begin Again
“My life is over!” Evelyn wept. “Why couldn’t you stay?”
She sat alone along the river bank, her heart aching.
She loved their memories, but they couldn’t fill the emptiness.
While lost in thought one evening, a gentle hand touched her shoulder.
“May I sit down?”
His twinkling eyes and his smile warmed her. His laughter teased her heart.
Night after night, he returned to sit quietly beside her.
In time, she wondered if maybe she hadn't written the final chapter of her life.
Could there be a new tomorrow, promising love and happiness, two people sharing a favorite place?
