Lily was bored,

she had nothing to do

so she went on a search

for her best pup friend Lou.

 

Where was he hiding?

Lily thought really hard

then searched round the garden

and scoured the yard.

 

Sitting down slowly

she admitted defeat;

her tail stopped wagging

as she stared at her feet.

 

‘Where are you hiding,’

Lily then cried.

‘I cannot find you -

believe me, I’ve tried.’

 

As though in answer

there was a bark.

It came from the forest,

so gloomy and dark.

 

What should she do?

So far yet so near;

Lily vowed she would find Lou

in spite of her fear.

 

She walked along the path

and there stood the trees.

She ignored her shivers

and her knocking knees.

 

Her friend was in need

and she’d answer his call.

Lily climbed on a branch

then she started to fall...

 

Then to her rescue

Lou came abounding

with a glittering army

that circled around him.

 

Lily found herself lifted

then set down on her feet,

she looked round in wonder,

her amazement complete.

 

Butterflies flittered

and fairies flew round

as Lily and Lou

both ran around.

 

The forest, it glowed

with a magical light

that cast a spell

which removed Lily’s fright.

 

They played and they played

for hours on end

but too soon the evening

began to descend.

 

It was time to head home

but both pups would be back.

With Lou by her side,

all fear Lily would lack.
