Evan faces his first challenge.

Evan the Engine

by HarryT

Clickety, clack, clickety, clack
Little Evan Engine right on track
Black puffs from his smokestack
With three passenger cars in back
Skiers riding up to Mt. Razorback

It’s his first time, ahead is a hard climb
He huffs and puffs, makes up his mind
He’s gonna roll up, up to the very top
Just as he promised his big, old pop
I will,  I can, I will… I know I can
Chug, chug, chug, I’ll be like Superman

He begins to climb, but his wheels slip
Slows a bit, then his wheels bite and grip
“I think I can, I think I can, I know I can
Pulling like his old pop called Iron Man
Up he goes, his passenger cars in tow
Huffing and puffing, clicking in flow
Up to the ski lift above the powder snow

The skiers happy as they unload their gear
Evan puffs, “I knew I could get you here”
All the skiers give Evan a rousing cheer
