A rhyming poem

Breathe

by Heather Bagley

When all people have abandoned me
My friends all take their leave
The moon benevolently shines her
Love and care on me

When I wander through a starlit wood
No soul for company
The birds and bugs and beasts offer their
Solidarity

Only fools would say I have no friends
I have what you can't see
The world breathes life and love and peace, my
Home and sweet reprieve
