(Almost a Sestina) Hearts to Bear
Hurt runs deep, born through all to blossom
From bone does seep, memories of woe
The aspects of pain, some warm the heart
Melodious tones do undo the wear
Music of suspense may be suspect
Bringing about pain, ‘merged to wonder
Stanza 2
Old bones of tone question wonder,
Can pain recede for love to blossom?
When love is wronged is of suspect
Matters of heart molded to woe
Trapped in shadows, alone, cold to wear
Where jokers tear out at the heart
Stanza 3
Coins and dust will break a young heart
Sweeping veins with dust ruins wonder
Can hope achieve and relight wear?
Or love once undo to blossom?
Be it fallacious or to woe
Is choice of love really suspect?
Stanza 4
When wrongs are made there is suspect
That scars don’t fade within the heart
That long lasting is pain from woe
Flowering forth with wicked bloss’m
Not faded there is no wonder
For all the life there is that wear
Stanza 5
With purple gowns to dress and wear
A young girl’s heart can be suspect
To fade in pain or rise in bloss’m
Repeated flames that dwell in heart
Can they last it is to wonder?
Erasing shadows of newborn woe
Stanza 6
Final remnants of lasting woe
Erasing of heart its scarred wear
And opening gates of new wonder
But real change is to be suspect
Now final health of lone torn heart
Miraculous light now heart’s bloss’m
Envoy
Is there no hope but woe to wonder,
For closets that sealed cherubim daughters?
To exploit the blossom and to bear the wear
Of heart suspect by shadows encounter.
