Little newborn leaves burst forth from a burned, blackened stump

Magic little sprigs remind us that life can never be fully extinguished

Never underestimate the power of nature to overcome tragedy

Oracles and seers nod sagely as the cycle recommences

Phoenixes rise from the ashes once more

Australia regularly experiences deadly bushfires, like the ones in 2009 that killed 173 people in my home state of Victoria. The regeneration of the forests is a powerful reminder that hope exists and renewal is inevitable, despite the loss and the grief that lingers.
