A poem

Seagull

by Eric Corsten

You beg for bread. Why from me?
When your food is in the sea.
look out there. See them swim.
Fish for food, so now begin.

You look at me as if to say,
Feed me sir, if you may.
Yes I could, yes I might.
Have you lost your will and fight?

Its ok, I understand.
I lost mine to a younger man.
I see him now in the mirror.
A new day getting clearer.

I know now, what I must do.
I know now, I see you true.
Since you cannot simply do.
I must Fish...

Fish for you.
