Ah, what man is not a slave to a cunning wife?

A Man's Torment

by Reese Turner

Wife: “Let’s shop today!”
It's a trap! Best stay away!
She smiles sweet. "O.K."

First, lunch on the go.
Been there done that. Burgers? No!
Quiche with "nice" Merlot…

Where then? Wal-Mart bound?
Not with this wife, in this town!
Don’t ask. Make no sound…

To Jacques’ Fine Clothing
(At prices I am loathing)
On cards I’m holding.

Yet,words I most fear,
“Darling, long as we are here,
Something for you, dear?”
