Christmas is always such a special time

Christmas Memory

One Christmas when I was nine and my sister was eight,

we begged our mother to let us stay up late.

I came up with the idea of sleeping under our Christmas tree

feeling that for certain at midnight we would see ...

a glimpse of Santa Clause all dressed in red,

standing quietly over our make shift bed.

We brought blankets, pillows and our favorite stuffed toy.

Feeling content and so full of joy.

Our mother brought a tray of cookies for Santa to eat.

She made them herself so they were quite sweet..

Much to our dismay no Santa did we see,

but he left presents for us under the tree.
