A Hero

No tales of ventures bold shall hence be told
His life was calm, his tempo mild and slow
No wealth or legacy of which to hold
He left the Earth with little trace to show

The cautious snail did live his days alone
For he could not keep pace with those so fast
He had no kin to call his very own
Unseen, he lived each day until his last

Yet on the hill where he was known to dwell
A hero he became for what he gave
The seed was planted in his spiral shell
And life began to thrive from in his grave

Now all will sing his story, tell his tale
A daisy finds her home within this snail
