Locked and Released

You pressed down upon me Crushed my weakened bones Seized my hand and lead me Through ancient, rusted homes   Built a tower from the sky Brought it down to me Crafted me into a jewel Taught my lungs to breathe   Said “Hello, what’s your name? Your eyes are beautiful” Poured it all into my glass Caused it to overflow   Tore it from around me Eased your steel hold Let my arm drop by my waist Made the truth unfold   Your lips were an illusion Your hands only a haze And though my brain objects My heart relives those days
