I Am Thankful

I am thankful
For the air
That allows me to breathe
In the smell of rainbows

I am thankful
For the family
Whose arms are wrapped
Around each other's love

I am thankful
For the memories
Of happy times and sad
Keeping warm through echoes in my heart

I am thankful
For each and every day
I am allowed to stay here
With you

I am thankful
For the joy
To be found in all of life
Waiting to be noticed

I am thankful
For the rainbows and the love
For the warm echoes and the joy
I am thankful for you

'Tis the season to reflect on what we are thankful for. It can be too easy to become numb to the beauty of the life we have, and lessen our ability to be thankful. I needed to remind myself.
