All Hallows' Eve

by rspoet

All Hallows’ Eve

O, Mister Grim and Mister Reap,
They wheedle in, invade your sleep.
On Hallows’ Eve, when nights are black,
Yes, this is when they ooze and seep.

They slip in through the slightest crack;
Be on your guard for they’ ll attack.
So stay alert when floorboards creak,
You’ll think they’re gone, but they’ll be back.

When witches fly and black cats sneak,
When ghosts appear and goblins shriek,
They’ll slink their way into your head
For they can sense when you are weak.

They’re in your closet, 'neath your bed;
They’ll grab onto the slimmest thread.
Don’t close your eyes, don’t fall asleep,
For that is when those demons creep.
