Memory Lane

by Diana Harris

I took a stroll

   Down Memory Lane

       Looked at the good times

             Tripped on the pain

             Watching the past me

                    Make those mistakes

                          Without understanding

                               The maturity it takes

                                        To learn from the errors

                                             To bloom from the bruise

                                                    To reach a hand out

Like you have nothing to lose

                                                                    Forgive my stupidity

                                                         Learn from each stumble

                                                      Give unto others

                                                  Remember to be humble

                                                                     I won’t build a house here

But Memory Lane is a place

Where all of us should go

                                                                                        To find a little grace

Doing a little retrospection. Realizing that I am who I am because of the past-and that's not a bad thing.
