More Like Twins

by Bobby Jo

My eyes have cried,
My heart has been broken,
My feelings have been hurt
My ears have heard the worst
My taste buds have changed

I smell the rain and tasted the pain
I cried on bended knee

I'm in rhythm with you
A ripple effect upon the water

When you think no one cares

My prayers go up,
My soul reaches out
I cry when you cry
I laugh when you laugh

You bring out my best
And sometimes my worst
But it's all in rhythm

In a connection
A feeling of identity
A wholesome familiarity

One in the same.

My daughter you are

DNA we share

If we weren't years apart
Twins would've been our start

This is my daughter's senior year, and it has been rough for both of us for many, many reasons. I can't express how close we are.
