Living with Lupus
Pain

I did not write this for pity. Anyone who knows me knows that isn't me. I wrote about the pain that lupus has stricken my body with for the last forty years, to show what positive thinking can do. A crippled body does not have to escort a crippled mind.
I have been opioid free for five years now, after twenty years of harsh doses. Now I try to manage it with natural ways such as massage and acupuncture. I am writing about it now to tell that writing is such good therapy, especially when paired with the wonderful people here. It's a form of mind over matter and the peaceful surrounding here is so therapeutic. It cannot change the damage done or eliminate the pain but can help with a better outlook.
