A chapter in the book 2023 Gypsy's Free Verse
Wrinkles are a Map
by Gypsy Blue Rose
wrinkles are a map of her hard life
and the simple dress is too loose in all the places where it used to be tight once she was his muse and his starving hands touched her every part outside and inside it's not easy to realize she can't turn back the clock although the wild thing she used to be is trapped
in the darkness of her mind
she lies sometimes but she is kind and tries to heal
other broken hearts she is hard on herself and hates every part from the bottom to the top though she is loving to everyone else she finds she suffers all the time, happy pills and happy hour numbs the child inside  |
"Wild Thing" is a 60s song written by American songwriter Chip Taylor and popularized by the English rock band the Troggs.
