Mother meerkats are in charge .
A chapter in the book Meet the Gang
Almost Married
Manny and Maisie meerkat had one hope.
They wanted to slip away to elope.
They lived in burrows they made on a slope.
So one night, Manny threw Maisie a rope.
But mama meerkat saw it and said, “ Nope.”
Manny thought Maisie must think him a dope.
The two would have to find a way to cope.
For now, they only sit around and mope.
