Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Around the Cape

The Sea Pixies

Rise Up....Champions of the Stormy Seas
We're bound around Cape Horn this day
Raise a glass before our trip
To the Pixies that will guide our way
 
Three belles of the open sea
Legendary lasses were masts to fail
Never despair dear sailor boys
We have Windy, Stormy and Gale
 
They are tiny waifs who can hide in your pocket
Or magically rise to waltz with you
A swirl of mystery claims their past
But they will answer your summons true
 
Rumor has them at the birth of boats
The first to peer through the rain
Perhaps an old battered craft
Or canoe off the Coast of Spain
 
Now Windy is the charmer
Balanced and thoughtful is she
But she brings the heart of a lioness
To save a ship and you and me
 
Stormy is the more reckless
She'll swoop to aid the mizzen mast
But a snoot of run will find her
Captain Morgan is in her past
 
Gale is by far the scholar
Knows every creature 'neath the sea 
Mastered the sextant and the stars
As fast as fast could be
 
The summons came from a lantern
With a strange celestial beam
While flashing through the darkness
I would bring the Pixie team
 
Astride the port side was Windy
Laughing through rain soaked eyes
The ever stressed starboard
Was held up by Stormy ties
 
Gale was on the compass
Steering through the swirl
The ship rocked and rolled
But held the course from twirl
 
The ship pushed on to clearer skies
A steady course thanks to the Pixie three
Now press ahead to Old Cathay
And grasp a load of China tea
