Things That Make Me Happy

Things that make me happy

seem few and far between,

Since I lost my husband

along with all our hopes and dreams.

One thing that brings a change of mood

are my grandkids, four..

When that entire brood shows up

I couldn't ask for more!

Cooking tends to bring a smile

To my face and heart.

My husband always loved my cooking ~

he said it was an art

To be honest with you all,

my television is my friend.

I am always happy

when my current series ends.

Finally, my hobbies make my heart happy some...

D&D, writer's guild, and a book club, too.

Pen pals, needlepoint, reading ~

and that's just to name a few.

I guess in the end one thing does ring true.

I do everything I can to occupy my mind.

Sometimes it is all I have

To travel down the path I find
