A humorous sonnet

Bad timing

by JLR

I have to put on chain mail for the clash.
But it is heavy, clunky, and too tight.
I struggle with the buckles and the sash.
I wish I had a suit that was more light.

At last, I put it on and grab my lance.
But then I realize I have to pee.
I curse my luck and do a little dance.
I wonder if I can just let it be.

I mount my horse and face my enemy.
He looks so fierce and confident and strong.
I try to act brave, but I want to flee.
I hope this tough ordeal won't last for long!

The trumpet sounds, and we begin to charge
But then my chain mail falls off; it's too large!
