A Day to be Thankful

Memorial Day is a time for us to

Remember and be thankful for

Those who fought in foreign wars.

They saved for us the precious gifts that we enjoy-

We may think as we please,

Write what we please,

Worship as we please,

Vote as we please.

We live free and secure only because of those who fought for

Our country, many making the ultimate sacrifice to

Preserve the sanctity of our freedoms.

Each of us should remember and commemorate our relatives

And friends who served. Say a prayer for each soldier,

Sailor and airman who fought for our well-being.

Whether by marching in or viewing a parade,

Participating in a memorial at a cemetery, or simply

Spending an afternoon together with friends.

We must never forget what these heroes did and the

Tremendous sacrifices their families made for us

All Americans, owe our gratitude and respect,

To every man and womanwho fought, to keep

Our precious freedom.
