Come The Harvest

In a world
where apples rule
I wonder what would be
my destiny
come the harvest
picked
plastic packed
with five similar others
left
on the tree
with the rest
the rejects
to be nibbled
and pecked
until
the inevitable
fall and ferment
I wonder
which rotten ending
would be
mine
