Love Poem

Another Day With You

Your smile awaits me every morn.
Anticipation starts my day.
Old Sol peeks through the morning mist.
Another day with you begins.

We set out on our morning walk.
Slow stroll around the neighborhood.
Leaves swirl, then crunch beneath our feet.
This day begins again with you.

I pull my bright red sweater close
against the chill of crisp cold air.
You take my hand in your strong grip.
My time and space begin with you.

We scurry back to our front door
and feel the welcome of our home.
There's solace and contentment here
as once again, my day begins.

Serene and cozy by the hearth.
Bold scent of coffee fills the air.
I like mine sweet, you take yours black.
Again, my day begins with you.

You turn to me and kiss my cheek
like every other day before.
I close my eyes and say a prayer
that we can share this day again.

What's old is new when I'm with you.
Same smile that greets me every morn.
Your touch that gives me endless joy.
Lord, let me have this day again.

The love of my life is having some health problems and I am reminded of how short life can be and since we know that tomorrow is promised to no one, I am thankful for each day and pray we have many many more.
