Cat's Crazy Christmas

by DeboraDyess

There's balls up on that strange new tree
I think they're put there just for me!
And boxes with such shiny bows...
What lies inside them, I don't know.

I'm sure my claws will do the trick â?"
It's just some paper â?" rip, rip, rip!
There's nothing good inside for me...
I think I'll scamper up this tree.

Who knows what lies in branches here?
A trumpet...snowflake...a reindeer!
All so small and breakable
and yet this tree's completely full!

I've heard this is a Christmas thing.
It's why the kids and grown-ups sing.
I think I'll celebrate, in that,
this Christmas now belongs to Cat.
