When the One you Love is Gone

Dedicated to anyone who has lost a Loved one

Oh how the night can be so long and lone
when silence echoes through the air with ease
and silver shadows dance throughout the night,
that's when I know my Love is gone for sure.

But as the sun begins to cast its glow,
and as the sky turns into blush of day,
sweet memories swirl swiftly through my mind,
and then my heart lets out a beating sigh.

While morning lifts the veil of night-time blues,
the sparrow sings a very happy tune,
and playful squirrels jump from tree to tree
as sly fox slips away until the night.

So as the warmth of sun shines on my face,

I bow my head and give thanks for today.

Love = your Loved one. Although I wrote this for my cousin's Widow, I wanted all people, who ever lost someone that they loved, to be able to relate to this poem.
