Might one die during a dream?
No Escape
by HarryT
In the corner of my porch, I watched a golden orb spider spin her web. I wondered how many unsuspecting victims she would capture in her gossamer trap.
A blue headed fly flew into her elegant net. She plodded from the corner and gobbled him up.
That evening, I fell into a deep sleep. When the morning came, delicate, flimsy strands entangled me. Not in my bed, but entangled in her ethereal web. I saw her coming upon me, eight legs trudging, fangs jutting, jaws opening wide.
“This must be a dream!” I cried. "Please wake up!” Nevertheless, I died.
