Song of the Nightingale

songs of the nightingale
float on summer breezes
filling the twilight with soft lullabies.

God's sleepy creatures begin to rest.

Peacefully,
night drifts on lavender shadows
ambling through the small hours
until dawn ushers in
the eternal promise...

night always turns into day
