Hallways
And in between them
Doors dividing space in time
Folding and unfolding - Revealing all
Concealing nothing but sight takes faith
In passing through.

Each turning of the clock unlocks another
A door swings open and they flee
Fearing this above all things
To be caught within an hour
To be held captive by its minutes
Ever sounding seconds
Countless ticky-tocks consumed
Ringing; roaring, loud out crying
So that bound within this room
One strains to hear life’s final, dying chime.

And what is sin, if not a crime?
And what is sin, if not a crime?
And what is sin, if not a crime?
A debt incurred for which there is no payment!
Not but the word, that which they heard
But did not take to heart.

And now,
One word sets them apart From grace
One word apart from outstretched arms
Loving embrace, from him, who sought to make them his
From him who sought to make and keep them his
Forever…, Always.

Receiving Jesus, or saying "yes" to him, by repentance and through faith is what gives us the power to be born again, as spirit-born children of God.
