Better Dead
Struck by a rogue bolt of lightning
our plane was nose diving;
below the vast, GREEN rainforest
of Amazonia.
Luckily, the thick canopy eased
the impact which knocked me out.
I woke up to the nauseating SMELL
of vomit, sweat 'n urine.
My SHIVERING body laid limp
on the plane's cold PAVEMENT.
My shattered nerves were at a MELTING
point when suddenly a noise I heard;
a glimmer of hope that one of my mates
had not yet met his final fate.
Heartened, I turned my head to see
but was met with a savage
covered in MUD coming for me.
In the semi-light, he made a ghastly sight;
had beastly chiseled teeth
and a bone pierced through his nose.
My heart there and then froze.
