Soul Writer Contest Winner

I cannot see or touch my soul,
and yet I know it's there.
It's made of everything I am,
the feelings that I share.

Without a soul, I wouldn't care,
just why you smile or frown.
But my soul makes me smile with you,
or help you off the ground.

The beauty that is all around,
that too is in my soul.
Color, music, poetry,
all things that make me whole.

But love's the very essence,
of this soul, I have inside.
My heart is its conduit,
it cannot be denied.

And when my time on earth is through,
and I have turned to ashes,
my soul may take a little rest,
then happily join the masses.

For our bright souls they never die,
just like the gentle wind.
They drift around until the time,
that we again begin.
