The Twisted Loop Poem
Poetry Contest
The format for a regular Loop poem is: write a first line. Then the second line begins with the last word of the first line. For example:
When I was little, I would hide
Hide from all the grown-ups I could.
The third line begins with the last word of the second line:
Could it be possible I'd never be found?
and so on.
With a TWISTED Loop poem, though, the second line begins with a HOMONYM - a word that sounds the same, but is spelled differently and has a different meaning - of the last word in the preceding line.
Example:
Someday, I know, I will have won
One fine trophy for my son.
Sun is up, the day is new.
Knew he'd be rejoicing, too.
Two more challenges, three more days;
Daze me and confuse my ways.
Weighs upon my weary feet.
Feat accomplished! Now let's eat.
The contest winner will win the full prize pool. This is a winner take all contest. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Sunday, September 15, 2024.
