Roundabout: Round 2

Flex your creative writing muscle with this continuation from Round 1. Anybody can participate regardless of whether you entered the first round.

In the first round, writers chose 5 nouns and 5 verbs randomly from their choice of source. They paired them together and created a story.

This round is a step tougher. You must choose a set of the nouns/verbs from the previous round, pair them together and create another unique story. 800 words max limit.

1. The available sets are listed below. I included the story name and author in case you'd like to go to their portfolio and read their story.

2. You can choose any author's set of words, but you cannot mix and match between authors. Pairs can be the same or different as the first author did, but the story must be unique.

3. If you participated in Round 1, you can also choose any author, including yourself, but the story must be completely different (not a continuation of your original story).

4. Your entry will start with the list of 5 nouns and 5 verbs, then list how you paired them. Then your story. It would be helpful if you highlight the words within the story.

5. You can alter the tense of the verb and change the noun to singular or plural. The noun and verb must go together but don't have to be physically adjacent.
Ex. Dog/walked. The dog slowly walked. The dog, pausing for the light to change, walked.
Right: The dog walked the man. Wrong: The man walked the dog.

Your list to choose from (pick only from one set):
