Paradelle

Poetry Contest
A Paradelle is a form of poetry members may not be familiar with. Paradelles are designed to be as repetitive as possible

American Poet Laureate Billy Collins created the form.

Rhyme Structure is optional

Meter is optional

The topic for the Paradelle is whatever the poet wishes to write about.

Paradelles contain simple rules:

Stanzas 1, 2, 3:

6 Lines each
Lines 1 and 2 must be the same
Lines 3 and 4 must be the same
Lines 5 and 6 must use all the words from Lines 1 and 3. No other words allowed

Stanza 4:

6 Lines
Must use all the words of Lines 5 and 6 of the first three stanzas. No other words allowed.

Because Paradelles contain specific requirements no deviations in formatting allowed.

The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 35.00 member dollars. There are 11 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
