From The Sport's Desk
This is to be a sport's themed story or novel beginning.
At least 1000 words in length, but no more than 2500.
I'm looking for sports and not games. So, I'll say okay to golf
but no to chess. Extreme sports, pro wrestling, arm wrestling,
volleyball, basketball, tennis and even bowling are all fine.
No to billiards or anything played on a board or computer.
You get the idea, right?
Yes, it can be fantasy, horror, science fiction, romance, adventure,
or whatever genre you can dream up. But, sports must be central
to the story. Don't have a spaceship beam up a basketball player
and have him forget about basketball.
Your story doesn't have to be complete. You can write part one of a
longer story or, as I indicated, this can be the beginning of a novel.
This is outside of the box for me and I expect for many of the excellent
authors here. But, that's the challenge. Are you game?
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 45.00 member dollars. There are 9 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 5 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
