Certainly a different take on horror Craig but you've tapped into something next level here. I'm thinking horrific.
Your sentence is a story and punchline all rolled into one.
Killer diagnosis. Sixer for you!

Thanks so much for the wonderful shiny stars, Phillippa, and, of course, for the lovely comments. No great result for this one, but I was happy with the results my other Halloweenish pieces got :) Muchas gracias, Craig

Wow Craig, this is such a gut kicking write! I cant imagine a more horrifying scenario short of learning one's child is terminally ill. Outstanding word economy and clever use of rhyming to elevate the prose to a poem.

Thanks for the extremely kind words and the wonderful rating, Pam. Both are very much appreciated. I'll stop now, as my response is already longer than the poem :) Cheers, Craig

Craig, this is indeed a horror poem, because I do not know what is more horrific than a death sentence from a doctor. Great job on this imaginative piece!!

This thirteen-word horror poem, Prognosis Poor, uses the right words in the right order to send a chilling message for all the readers and especially Mr. Jones.

A very well-written thirteen word horror poem. The last thing anyone would like to hear is that your time on earth within your loved ones is limited to a few months.

Yes, those are some of the most horrible words to hear from a doctor. Hopefully, the doctor would offer more suggestions or a second opinion would be consulted!

This is indeed a horror story, Craig. We know "some day" we will pass on, but not knowing when may convince us that that day will never come. A fine entry for the contest. Marilyn

Craig, This is a very well written thirteen word horror poem you have penned for the contest. You used very good and very sad, but scary words that would come from a doctor. Best wishes in the contest. Blessings, Teri

Thanks so much, Teri. This is the last of the Halloween prompts, I think. None too soon! Cheers, Craig
