This sounds like a fishy tale lol. I like the picture and the poem. I like cod myself. I like the way the poem sounded when read aloud and the way the words fitted the picture so well. Thank you for sharing.

"Fishy, fishy", is an extremely well-written and deftly descriptive piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post.

I'm the only person, the only one, in my large family that doesn't love to fish. However, I'm a good cook and love to eat it. Your poem was a delight and fine entry for the challenge.
Sending you my best today as always,
Sally :+)

Well, those Georgia Mountain trout do get into Western NC mountain waterways and those I don't release, well, they eat really good :)

Hello JLR, a good read of a well written free verse. Probably, as you say, safer to fish in rivers than the ocean. I go for ocean catch - so many rivers are a bit polluted LOL. You cover a number of varieties in this piece, some I do not know - but trout (from a clean river LOL, I like). Interesting story - well written - warm regards Dorothy x

I remember my dad going fishing. For several years there was a huge catfish that he and several others had been trying to catch. My dad went fishing every single day during warm weather. One day he came home and told us he had caught that big ole catfish. We asked where it was and said he threw it back in so someone else could catch it and get their excitement. He never went fishing again! He got what he'd been working for and now he was finished.
Great poem and easy reading!

I love this comment, the real fisherman do gave an honor system and a fish tale so very similar.

He used to bring home all this fish that we had to eat and I hated fish. We were glad he threw the big one back because it must have been 40 years old by then. I doubt it would have tasted very good.

This well-done write conveys a love of fish (for supper) and an appreciation for fishing. I especially like the end--the thought of throwing a really good catch back in.

This is a lovely fish tale, my friend. I used to love fishing, but am unable to fish anywhere but the supermarket anymore. A nice response to the challenge, my friend~Debbie

Thank you Debbie, you will need to dip a line again, when time can be turned to your favor.

A very well-written free verse poem about your love and experience of going fishing and eating whatever you can catch without any preferences as long as it is but enough for the pot.

Yayyy! You did it, and did it so well. This is excellent. I love fish stories as I grew up with a fishing dad and uncle. Letting the catch loose is not uncommon in good fishermen.

I enjoyed your fishy free verse, JLR. Your lines flow smoothly with a great story filled with much imagery. I like the alliteration of 'f' in freshwater fish is my favorite' and the cross rhyme trout/shout. Your art choice pairs nicely with your well=chosen words. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully, Jan.
