Thank you Alf. I am having such fun playing with these kids and will be quite sad when I run out of alphabet. Of course I could start on prime numbers and keep going for a while. - Wendy

Lots of L's and S's in this great little poem about Lakeesha Little. You're creating some wonderful names for your book Wendy. I love this one, and it finishes off with a really positive message, and leaves my lips smiling.
cheers,
valda

Virtual six for this adorable write, Wendy! What a terrific children's poem this is! I especially love your second stanza with the first word in every line being "Some". It just emphasizes that people are all different, and that's OK. "Cupid bows/never close" ... really cute! Great job on this write, Wendy! Luv it! - - Connie

Thanks Connie, I patterned her after my grand daughter who once told me her lips were to big and I said for what? Smiling? Kissing? I'm sure someone at school gave her a bad time. I did tell her that they really didn't look pretty when she pouted but other than that . . . Wendy

Don't you just love it when the grandkids say something that gives you an idea for a great write? We as adults would never think to write about lips being big. LOL Out of the mouths of babes.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, Wendy!

Well, I am just LOL! This is so darn cute. Still giggling. Yes, we love our lips. I think this is the best one yet. Rhyming and artwork are so charming. Flows along nicely and is funny. Marilyn

Thanks Marilyn. I patterned this after my grand daughter who was worried hers were too big. Her hair is, but not her lips. ;)

If I hadn't used my last six days ago, this would have got one for sure. Great rhyme, great meter, good use of enjambment. And the message is such an important one - and not just for kids. Great job, Wendy, thanks for sharing. Craig.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and review my work. I am having fun with these kids and hope to complete the alphabet soon. I'm so glad you liked it and appreciate the sixth. It helps me stay energized. - Wendy

Kinda makes you wonder if sweet little Lakeesha Little was the love child of either the Rolling Stones Mick Jagger, or Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Wendy.
Kids outta love this poem, however.
Cute...

I'm glad you enjoyed both the poem and the message. I think kids tend to be as tough on themselves as other kids are to them.. Maybe the book will help. - Wendy
