Hooray for another Doble fan. I think it is mesmerizing and I can watch a bullfight without feeling bad for the bull. I am having fun playing with these children. - Wendy

This chapter 4 on Dante Daza is a cancing dazzler Wendy. You've woven well all these different dancing styles through your poem, and end it with the message of -it takes hard work - if you really want to achieve. Nicely done,
cheers,
valda

Thank you Pearl for the R & R. I danced a bit in Musical Comedy theatre, but never had any formal training (beyond cheerleading) and really admire the discipline that goes into memorization of the routines and the physicality needed. I know that little boys, and big ones, tend to shy away from dance. If my little poem can make it more acceptable, I will be very glad. - Wendy

This is a great addition to your book, Wendy. You must know something about dancing yourself to be able to name the steps. Your poem is humorous and fun with good rhyming. Flow is great. Nicely illustrated as always. Marilyn

I did a bit of Musical Comedy in my day, but my only formal training came from cheerleading ; ) I'm glad you had fun reading. - Wendy

Such a delightful children's poem, Wendy! And I loved it too!

"Pas de bouree" was new to me, but I recognized the Pasodoble from Dancing with the Stars. This little guy just loves to dance his butt off. So cute! "His feet tap, tap, take tiny hops. He sways and bobs and rarely stops" ... love this ... great imagery! Yep, start 'em young! Unfortunately too many men don't like dancing, yet it is such a fun way to stay fit.

This is a great addition to your Children's book. - - Connie

Thanks Connie. I know a phrase here and there. In fact, I think my whole volume of dance knowledge is here in this one tiny poem. So nice to finally use it since the dance floor is out for this old gal. I'm glad you liked it. - Wendy

I just noticed the photo and comment in your profile - lol!

This is great, I love the pacing, the rhyme, the fun content - everything about it.

I don't like to dance. I fell over in the asphalt playground age about ten doing compulsory folk dancing - banged my head and chipped a tooth (a front one, of course). It took the tooth nearly forty years to fall out, and now I have a hole where a tooth should be. So I don't like dancing.

I like your poem though, well done.

Thanks for peeking in Craig. I am so sorry about your dance catastrophe. I used to love dancing, now it just looks like a lot of work. So glad you liked watching Dante dance and thought his footwork was quite good. - Wendy

You're welcome. Obviously, when someone asks, I come up with a far more macho sounding explanation for the missing tooth - so don't tell!

Wendy,

What a delightful little story in a poem! I enjoyed imagining this special boy who dances everywhere he goes. What a fun post! The idea of offering several of these in alphabetical order is cool! Good luck!

Hi Wendy,

I think this is an excellent chapter for your children's book. You might want to include those definitions as a footnote, because they were good for me, too. I had no idea of what those terms meant. Thank you for sharing!

Kim

Thanks Kim for the review. I suppose the footnotes could go into the back of the book somewhere. Might be helpful with the history of the Iditarod and the Apache nation too. I will keep that in mind. - Wendy

It takes hard work to have that chance,
but Dante Daza loves to dance.

Here's hoping he makes it.

There was a movie, I forget the name, about a boy who loved to dance and grew up to be a ballet star.

Thanks Nancy. I wish I could get this old biddy body moving with joy as it did when I was young. Now every move seems a chore. I'm glad you enjoyed Dante's dance. - Wendy
