Wendy,
This was a fun read. Good job on your continuation of the alphabet. I really like the illustration--it has a nice, old timey feel--which is good. I like the many instances of alliteration of B & the great use of rhyme.

Thanks for sharing. Jan

I enjoyed reading your children's poem "Betsy Bernstein". You chose an appropriate picture and I liked the rhyming.
Happy Easter.
Best of luck.

I enjoyed this little rhyming tale of Miss Betsy and her blueberry adventures. nice rollicking rhythm in the verse and the rhyming is excellent as always.

Great ending too.

Lovely Bb write for your book Wendy. Great ending to this story, easy to visualize Betsy laying back, scratched, full of berries with a big blue smile on her face. Nicely done,
cheers,
valda

Thanks Valda and I think I found Cc yesterday. His name is Christopher Crumbly and he likes animal noises. - Wendy

Haha ... this is cute, Wendy. I love the "dream filled smile was blue". Yes, those darn blueberries are delicious but they stain the teeth something awful! Sounds like she went to a lot of trouble to get those berries, what with the "scratched legs" and "clothes askew". Are ya sure she was just picking berries? :)

This is a very kid-friendly poem that I'm sure would bring a smile to any child (or adult for that matter).

Very nice, Wendy!

Poem about a child picking blueberries. The artwork works well with this piece of poetry. This poem flows well. Blueberries are good and tempting to eat.

Thanks for the read and review. I too love blueberries, although perhaps not as much as dear Betsy. - Wendy

What a delight this is to read. Clever, amusing, charming. Love the alliteration. Image is adorable. I would love to give you a sixer, but I don't have one. Great job. Marilyn

Most poems I know containing a reference to Nantucket could not appear in a book of children's verse, even though they are limericks. This, on the other hand, is delightful, beginning with a great alliterative line, and containing other such gems as "bitsy bites of juicy heaven". Nice job! Craig

Thanks for another fun review Craig. And since I think I have heard that limerick, shame on you. - Wendy

Thanks Jill. I am having fun running around the alphabet, coming up with names and deciding what kind of kid they are. I'm glad you liked the closing. - Wendy

A very good poem. This would make an excellent addition to a children's book of poetry. Perhaps you should write one. I don't think you would have a problem finding a publisher.

Thank you, Thomas, for the encouragement. This is just one page of the book I am writing, Just Like Me From Aa to Zz which will feature alphabet names and kids from all sorts of cultures and ethnicities just being kids. I have two other pages posted already, Edna Ellis and Zachariah Zumbi if you want to peek in my portfolio for them. I appreciate the read and review. - Wendy
