Poem about celebrating Shabbat. The artwork works well with this piece. This poem flows well and contains information to help the non Jewish person understand.

This is a lovely poem that I enjoyed reading. Topic is good for all ages, not just kids. Rhyming is excellent as is flow of your piece. Your author's note is equally nice. Informative and interesting. Thank you for sharing. Marilyn

A very well-written poem for children to learn more about the Jewish religion and believes. Great informative information about the foreign words you used in your poem.

Thanks for taking time with my Faith Poetry offering. I appreciate your assesment and kind words.

There is enough detail in this poem to bring the reader into the circle of the family sharing sabbat. The practice of teaching your children the faith of their fathers is very evident in this poem.

This is an excellent poem for children. You teach the reader about the Shabbat. I like how after the bread is broken, talk and laughter begin. There is a warm feeling in your words.

What a beautiful poem of faith, Wendy, and so uplifting! I can't imagine that there could be a finer way to teach little ones about Shabbat. As always, flawless rhyme, perfect meter, and for all non-Jewish folk, not just children, wonderful lessons! Who could ask for more in a poem about belief?

Thank you Dawn. As soon as I get rid of all these wonderful weekend guests I plan to start putting up the whole book. Your expert eye would be much appreciated (as is your review for this poem). - Wendy

Wendy, thanks for giving us a taster of your book.
This is lovely, pitched at a level appropriate for young children and sharing customs and an element of faith that most outside the Jewish community will not be familiar with.
Flows and rhymes sweetly and that's a great ending. I wish you luck in the contest and in the book project. Keep us informed on progress.
Technical note. There are little squares at the end of each line - I'm guessing this is a result of pasting from a version that was already formatted (in Word?) and Evil Eddie has added his touch.
Steve
PS I think I have won the last two Faith contests, which is ironic since my poems were mainly about lack of faith. I've got nothing this time (again!)

Hey Steve, thanks for the sparkling review and the heads up on Evil Eddie. Can you take a peek and see if I have castrated him? I retyped the entire piece, but you never know. . .
Hugs,
Wendy
