Very nicely done 3-5-3. One of the most exciting things in a kid's life (and I might add, as an adult too) is our fascination with balloons, holding onto that string and the moment we let go. I think your piece reinforces that excitement. Marilyn

This is a very touching poem because it's about elementary school kids. It is so totally poignant to consider where each of their lives goes. Up high, or crashing down. No one knows, least of all the child. Along with the simple illustration, this poem says so much in so few words. Strong entry for the contest.

The children actually attach postcards to the balloons asking the finder mail them back. We then charter where the balloons were found on a large map. We launched from Morton Grove. Farthest balloon got to Iron Mountain, MI. The kids love the activity.

Wow. What an interesting project. Something the young minds will never forget. Could see that in more schools.
