Cult Detector was the perfect title for this piece. The list covered some very thought provoking points and are so needed in today's society. I would have loved to seen a few scriptures underneath each point to counteract the non-truths!

Thank you so much for reading and for your suggestions. I have found short pieces work better on FS and with cults, major points are made by sticking to the basics. I did use fundamental Gospel scriptures in my notes. Which is not to say I could have added some more scriptures or at least refences to same. Thanks again and God bless you, Dennis

G'day Dennis. Very well written and said, mate. For so many years, or centuries, those filthy conmen, have tricked people into joining their man made cults. Rarely, if ever, do they even discuss Our Lord. Some of them have been nothing short of pure evil, Jones, Manson, to name a couple. Satan moves the buggers and that is just one way he recruits blinded people into his realm.

Wonderful sermon, Sir.

Cheers Fez

Thanks brother. I do believe the more dangerous cults are this closest to the truth without being the truth. God bless and thanks for commenting!

Deniz22: great information and witnessing about Jesus being the truth! I like the facts that you give us to the world. Not just a smile but the truth. Worship in spirit and truth, sins are forgiven, Jesus is the way, truth and life! Yes, great good news in these days. Now, the other countries are afraid of visiting America with our riots in the streets. I pray that all knows the saving grace of Jesus! God Bless! flylikeaneagle

Thank you...there really is no safe place on earth for those whose names are not written in the Lambs book of life. Are job is to know the truth and offer Him to others as you know. God bless you and thank you for your encouraging words, Dennis

I have been studying about Mormons lately and you mentioned "secret underwear" which as far as I can understand it they are supposed to discourage masturbation.

Also, they baptise others of their Mormon family for the dead in hopes of getting them into the kingdom of God.

They are a real piece of Demonic work.

Before you do the following, bathe yourself in Holy Spirt power, building yourself up on your most holy faith, because of what you will see.

Initiation of Mormon boyz (boyz correct spelling)
I will bath you in prayer for the next few days if you check this out.

    Hi brother Jerry,
I never heard that explanation for their holy underwear (pun intended) and I don't think its their official belief. As I understand it from Google University, its for those Mormons who gain a higher status in this multiple layered temple of deception and show (how they do that, considering it is underwear, I know not) their deeper commitment by slipping into their religious skives.

It seems 90% of Mormons have no clue as to the deeper secrets of their false religion. God bless, YBIC, Dennis

I was very interested in your writing as I have questioned my son's religion as being a cult. But, by your descriptions, his church does not fit that of a cult. They do fit the first part of #1. They think they have it right and everyone else is wrong. My husband calls them, "Christians without Christ".

Your "cult detector" is very helpful.

Blessings Dennis
Janet

Thank you Janet. I believe even true Christian churches can be run in a cultic fashion. There is a balance between Biblical leadership and a leader who controls all aspects of another's life. The best model is a shepherd Pastor, under the lead of the Chief Shepherd, Jesus. We have to be careful to not throw off all leadership because of our own self will. There really are lots of God Pastors who serve the Lord faithfully where they are placed by the Holy Spirit. God bless, and thank you for commenting. Much love in Christ, Dennis

I liked your script! And I agree with it completely. People have lost the ability to search for the truth. It is so much easier to just accept what is told them. Look at our country today. Most individuals have no idea what they believe in! But they will fight to the death for a confirmed lie! Very well done. They do NOT want to know the truth...then they would be held accountable. Besides, with our politicians promoting lies, makes it much easier to accept then.

The truth I am promoting is the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who died for our sins and rose from the dead in a real, physical body just as He said He would. Simply faith in His words of truth about these matters causes us to be born again with a new nature able to see truth and to grow in grace. There are many imitations (cults) so I am seeking to show the difference between religion and Christianity. I say this because I am not sure you understood this post of mine since you have opened up the political door. I am not questioning your intelligence or ability to understand. I am only trying to clarify my original post. That said, I sincerely thank you for reading and commenting. God bless you, Dennis

Maybe you're right, but I see God in everything. Which he use to be. Now we post him in the church and no where else. Since we don't allow him in our schools, businesses or Government, in time we will also take him out of our churches. It's not that I want to put God into the Government...I just don't want the Government to take God out of our country! And I fear that in time, it will. I am very sorry if I offended you. I did like your message.

I am not offended in any way and am sorry if I gave you that impression. I'm only trying to point out our best concept of God is offered in Jesus who said, " He who has seen Me, has seen the Father." God bless you, Dennis

I have no doubt that you have put a lot of work in the guidelines you feel designate a cult. I noticed some of them are directly specifically at LDS. I appreciate your effort in sharing what you felt is a heartfelt message.

It is unfortunate though, many times those who judge tend to forget all judgement is to be left to GOD - not man. If you don't believe me, ask certain Jewish Priests that were around 2000 years ago.

Thanks for sharing this. JW

Contrary to popular belief, Christians are told to judge all things. We are to judge by the Bible. People who do not judge probably only think they don't. Judging is not just condemning but rather choosing good over evil.

I find your comment stating we should judge by the Bible interesting - especially in view of the fact that without counting the various translations of the Bible - There are at least 20 versions of the Bible ranging from King James, English Standard Version, Holman Christian Bible, etc. Also, some versions include books that others, (particularly the King James Version, doesn't have.) Thus, it makes one wonder which particular Bible would one use for a basis of judgement. Not to mention, it seems mankind has translated/mistranslated and has created so many of his own version of the Bible that only Jesus Himself knows what it is "real" truth.

My advice would be to read the Gospel of John in several different main stream bibles. This is good foundation for understanding the other scriptures since it focuses on who Christ is and what He taught about being right with God. Translating any book into another language is very difficult and obviously involves choosing the right word to be as accurate as possible. It is now within everyones reach (thank you Google) to study up on how translations are done, who did them and what their qualifications are. By the grace of God, there are good people who are trained and conscientious about the work of accurately translating the Bible. As for us, we are to determine the meaning of difficult passages by reading them in context and comparing them with other passages dealing with the same subject. And we need to remember that John 3:16 is every clear entry point into faith in Christ and is 90% (their are cults who twist their own translations) the same in all the English translations. One last note, the bible has impacted what ever part of the world it has had fre course in ...and always for the betterment of that section of the planet. God bless, Dennis

Hi Dennis, this is a great subject to write on, as I believe so many are deceived. I would love to send this to my aunt and uncle. My uncle is in freemasonry. I have showed them scripture and confronted them about it, but they believe it is a prestige thing and that good people are in it. They won't receive the truth. I continue to pray for them.

Yes, Freemasonry is just another religion which relies on good works to justify them before God. As you and I know, only the blood of Jesus can do that. Unfortunately, Christians sometimes get entangled with this deception and thus cannot grow in grace though they do not lose their salvation. Your prayers for them while also holding out the word of life to them is exactly what we are called to do. God bless you in your faithfulness, Dennis

"Cast your vote for Jesus. Keep your eyes on Calvary".

I say my adage over and over again when anybody asks me what really matters in life.

Do that and all else is for not.

Essay is informative with an easy to understand message.

Thank you. While I applaud the truth of your adage, I think it well to remind you the scriptures say much more than the rudimentary message of personal salvation. We are admonished to "grow in grace and knowledge" and we simply can't do that if we are stranded at first base. And are you really satisfied with the depth of your relationship with Jesus? Truly, God has so much more to show us, and to bless us both for ourselves but also for the benefit of others. Thanks for reviewing and God bless you, Dennis
